Pokemon Go developer Nitantic has announced they will banned the account which used cheating program permanently some days ago. But now it appears that someone who have not use the cheating program is also banned permanently because their accounts data transfer appeared malicious at first glance. Nitantic has announced that they is reversing some permanent account bans it mistakenly issued over the last few weeks in blog posts today. In some cases, this involved third-party mapping tools designed to show you where pokémon were located, like the popular but now defunct PokéVision. These tools broke the balance of market and many Pokemon Go players complaint they can not defeat the Pokemon in gym or they always missed the Pokemon when competitor.

Niantic first began cutting off access to those apps earlier this month, and it started aggressively issuing permanent account bans about two weeks ago. "Some players may not have realized that some add-on map apps do more than just show you nearby Pokémon," said Niantic CEO John Hanke in a blog post. Apps that scrape Niantic’s servers for data violate the Pokémon Go terms of service, which is why tools like PokéVision were forced to shut down. While there are other similar apps that don’t do that, some of them collect user data and send it to Niantic. That process "can have an effect similar to DDoS attacks on our servers," said Hanke.

Now, Niantic is going through the accounts it banned to reinstate those players who weren't knowingly violating the TOS. "Add-on maps which scrape data from our servers still violate our terms of service and use of them may still result in an account ban going forward," Hanke clarifies. He also says that accounts that were created to scrape data from the game or those that used GPS spoofing techniques to play in other areas around the world will remain permanently banned. "Our main priority is to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate experience for all players," he concludes, "so aggressive banning will continue to occur for players who engage in these kinds of activities."

These accounts represent "a small subset" of the banned users. "As a result of some changes made to our infrastructure, we are now able to unban this set of accounts." "Add-on maps which scrape data from our servers still violate our terms of service and use of them may still result in an account ban going forward," Hanke clarifies.
